Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR)

The Italian National Research Council (CNR) is the greatest research public body of Italy, carring out, promoting, spreading, transferring and improving research activities in the main sectors of knowledge. Two parts of CNR participate in ECHORD++ experiments:

CNR  IFAC  Institute of Applied Physics
The main goal of the Institute of Applied Physics (IFAC) is to carry out frontier research at an international level and, at the same time, to develop new technologies and methodologies that could be effectively transferred to the economic system. The involved approaches are theoretical, experimental and applied research, with a firm determination to develop new techniques and to build prototypes and instruments. The whole Institute is part of the CNR Florence Research Area situated at the “Polo Scientifico di Sesto Fiorentino.”

CNR  ITIA – Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation
The Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation (ITIA) can boast great experiences and know-how in different high-tech fields: microsystems, mechatronic systems, robotics, control systems, virtual prototyping and simulations of complex mechatronic systems. It is a partner in many European Projects dealing with robotics and also in important International Research Networks. The robotic department has experience in the conception and development of innovative devices and control systems. It is currently involved in the development and assessment of rehabilitation devices in collaboration with clinics.
