Universidad de Sevilla

Universidad de Sevilla (USE) was established in 1505. It is third largest university in Spain with more than 60,000 students, 400 research groups, almost 4,500 researchers/professors and close to 7,500 yearly scientific publications with international impact.

The main role of USE in the SIAR Project will be the application of communications, robot sensor integration and filtering for reliable robot localization and mapping during inspections and monitoring tasks. USE has extensive experience in robot localization and sensing systems in both outdoor and indoor scenarios. In the last 10 years USE took part in several European Projects where robot localization has been directly addressed for ground and aerial systems, such as FP6 AWARE Project (http://www.aware.eu) for the cooperation of unmanned aerial vehicles with ground wireless networks and robots, FP7 ARCAS Project (http://www.arcas-project.eu/) for aerial robot manipulation or FP7 CONET Network of excellence (https://www.cooperating-objects.eu/) for robot and sensor network localization, and enumerous National and Regional funded projects such as the AEROSENS Project for the integration of aerial and ground robots with sensor networks or the CLEAR Project for long endurance aerial robots.
